Perfect summer travel bag
"My family lives a few hours away, and I also like to travel for races, so I wanted a backpack that I could pack easily for weekend trips. I chose this one after looking at similar options from other companies. When I first got it, I was disappointed. It looks small when it’s unpacked. I’m a chronic over-packer, and I didn’t think I’d be able to close it with a pair of running shoes in it. . But, I got it on final sale so I couldn’t return it. I’m glad I gave it a chance. I have it packed for a trip this weekend, and in the main compartment are three pairs of running shorts, three t-shirts, two tank tops, jean shorts, a swimsuit, a hoodie, flip flops, my makeup bag, and (of course) my running shoes. The mesh pockets on the inside are the perfect size: the top one has my shampoo, conditioner, and skincare products, and the bottom one has my bras, underwear, and socks. Even with all of these items in the main compartment, the bag was easy to close, so it could definitely fit a few more items. I really like that packing the main compartment doesn’t take away from the space in the front pocket. I was shocked that my hardcover, 1000-page textbook fit in the front pocket EASILY, and there was still room for my small camera, glasses, chargers, and another book. The laptop pocket in the back also was just big enough to fit both my laptop and my iPad (with the case on). I also really appreciate that almost all of the straps are removable, so I could take off the waist and chest straps. I don’t see myself using those, and it’s nice to not have them just hanging off. I also love the loops on the front to carry additional things. My biggest complaint is that the water bottle pocket is fairly skinny and can’t fit my Nalgene or my hydroflask when the bag is packed. This was slightly disappointing as they both fit in my other Topo bags. But I don’t really mind carrying them anyway. I do think the bag will be harder to pack in the wintertime when I’m going to need jeans and thick sweaters. But I’m very happy with my purchase, and I’m excited to use it for all of my future trips."
